DEPARTMENT OF TURKISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE PROGRAM OUTCOMES

Program Outcomes (Fedek Definition): Statements that describe the knowledge, skills, experience, and behaviors that students must acquire by the time they graduate from the program. LO1. Acquires knowledge about the linguistic features of Turkish that can be observed in the past and present, makes inferences; uses Turkish beautifully and correctly in spoken and written form. LO2. Acquires basic knowledge about the periods, works, and personalities of historical and contemporary Turkish dialects. PÇ3. Can evaluate issues related to the Turkish language based on linguistics and language science methods and produce solutions to problems. PÇ4. Recognizes topics, literary figures, and works evaluated within the scope of Turkish folk literature. PÇ5. Conducts compilation and research in the fields of folklore and folk literature. PÇ6. Acquires knowledge about the traditions, customs, beliefs, practices, and their origins that exist/are kept alive in society. PÇ7. Acquires knowledge and experience about the historical development, general structure, general characteristics, sources, chronology, representatives, important works, meters, and verse forms of Turkish literature from its beginnings to the present day. PÇ8. Acquires an aesthetic perspective that shapes the products of Turkish literature. PÇ9. Knows, compares, and explains the literary developments and changes in pre-Islamic Turkish literature, classical Turkish literature, Turkish folk literature, and the Tanzimat, Servet-i Fünûn, Fecr-i Âtî, National Literature, and Republican periods; gains awareness of the new language and literature issues brought about by the era. PÇ10. Analyzes literary works produced in Turkish Literature from an interdisciplinary approach in terms of elements such as genre, structure, language, theme, literary movement, literary theory, mentality, culture, philosophy, sociology, psychology, history, and religion; observes differences in form and content and evaluates them critically. PÇ11. Understands and examines what they have learned in all branches of Turkish Language and Literature correctly and sufficiently in line with scientific principles and by utilizing philosophy/history/sociology/psychology and other social/human sciences; produces solutions to language and literature problems they encounter using an interdisciplinary approach. PÇ12. Teaches the language and literature knowledge they have acquired in all public and private sector institutions for educational purposes. Edits texts in the media sector (print and visual) to ensure the correct use of the native language. Teaches Turkish to foreigners, provided they have obtained a teaching certificate.
